To Rekey or Not to Rekey

This is a question that we should all think about.Do we really know who has keys to our place.One thing is certain a lot of people are moving into new houses and apartments and are handed a set of keys, which have been used over and over by many previous tenants.  In fact it’s difficult to keep track of how people have used these keys over the years, and how many copies are floating around out there.  This compromises the security of your home, apartment of living situation.  Now consider the fact that your personal safety and the security of your possessions can be improved greatly by the simple act of rekeying  (changing) the locks.  Rekeying the locks makes it so that the old keys will no longer work,  and the locks are reset to a new set of keys. This means that you get a whole new set of keys, and can throw away the old ones.  The best part is that the lock(s) don’t have to be changed, just the pin tumblers.  The process is affordable and usually takes just over an hour.
Rekeying locks is highly recommended if you are moving into a new home or changing your living situation.  So don’t forget to put this on your checklist when moving.
